becca had her first check up care with the ped doc in jackson yesterday and she is doing good almost peed on the doc.. he said that he is amazed at how developed she is and her reflexes are really good and that she is growing and cute.. she is up to 5 pounds and 5 ounces... and she eats every 3 hours or so sometimes she will eat earlyer than that. she knows how to poop fine and pee too. she takes a bottle very well and formula that she has to have since she is a premiee and will have to have for at least the first 6 months.. she wont nurse though.. and i have been pumping but i am really starting to get frustrated cause i cant seem to produce enough for how often she eats.. last night was really rough she would not settle down and then when she did it was like after 4am this morning from going to see the doc and the cold air and stimulation stuff.. but she has done better today.. i was able to have a short nap today but i havent felt well i c-section is bothering me and i have felt sick to my stomach i think alot of it is stress and lack of sleep and starting to be frustrated.. in the hospital they hardley let me nurse and they mostly gave her a bottle so lucky she will take a bottle and she would nurse now i can barley get her to its like 1 min if i get lucky and then she screams and wont have anything to do with nurseing and just wants a bottle... and the lacation specialist they have here i dont want to even talk to since i havent heard anything really good.. i did hear that she is a miracle worker but leaving burses on the back of the babies heads/necks and the fact that a doctor isnt impressed with her method i am not going to put any harm towards my baby...
so that is the update on becca.. we are glad to be home.. we arent going to be happy when grandma goes back to work believe it or not she is helping more than she thinks.. please keep praying for us and keep her name in the temple.. thank you.. if its not asking to much please pray that becca will start to nurse soon...

  1. Jamison would never nurse either. I couldn't get him to latch and when I tried to put him to my breast, he would just scream and scream. I finally stopped trying to nurse him because we both ended up crying and that stress will only make it worse! So I pump exclusively, and have since he was about 3 days old. It can be very frustrating and times and there are so many things that can make your milk production go up or down. If you want to talk about it, let me know. I'll just share a few things I've found helpful over the past seven months....make sure you are taking care of yourself! I stopped taking care of myself while we were moving, I didn't drink much water or eat much and I was stressed and I almost stopped producing. But once I made sure I was getting enough food and water, and made sure I was pumping regularly (I would pump every 2 hours), I started producing more. Your body learns how much you need based on how much you pump. Hang in there and try not to get too frustrated, I know how hard it can be when you can't nurse!
